Natural stone outdoor tables

Bring the beauty and unique character of natural stone to your outdoor dining experience. A natural stone outdoor dining table is a fantastic option for almost every type of outdoor space. Natural stone tables will compliment and enhance both timber and paved outdoor dining areas. See the gallery below for inspiration. By utilising the same materials as used for centuries in some of the world's greatest buildings means that these pieces of outdoor furniture are built to last.

We predominantly range tables using two different primary stones. Marble and travertine.  Both are forms of limestone, occur naturally and are used extensively as premium building materials.

How are natural stone outdoor tables made?

A solid slab of travertine or marble would be unmanagable for a piece of putdoor furniture so the tables are actually a combination of materials.

The stone is cut into tiles which are expertly hand laid on to a reinforced solid resin base. This provides the strength needed to support the table top while keeping the weight down. Most importantly, with the aid of a groutless join a beautiful natural stone surface is achieved.

Being completely natural, every stone piece is different and will have it's own unique hue or a streak of colour. Given it's origins from hotspings, travertine stone in particular can also feature tiny holes. It is part of it's natural character. To provide a silky smooth surface for these tables the holes are filled with resin and the top is finished with a protective sealant.

Advantages of a Natural Stone table

    • A stone top, solid fibreglass and resin base and added aluminium bracing produce a strong and durable product
    • The aluminium sub frame will not rust or damage the table through expansion (note: only some brands use aluminium)
    • The table top will remain cooler than some other materials
    • Low maintenance and suitable for an all weather enviroment
    • Will not warp or bow like some other tables
    • The neutral colours will pair nicely with a variety of chair styles, materials and colours to suit your preference and environment

Available styles

We have a number of options available and highly recommend the tables from Royalle Outdoor Furniture. Importantly the reinforced frame for the Royalle models is made from aluminium where other brands can use steel. This is extremely important as a steel frame is known to expand and damage the tiles of the table.

These are main Royalle styles available. Check our online store for the current size options. There are plenty of options available for eight and ten seaters and some smaller.

The Rositano:  Travertine table top with a marble border and sitting on an aluminium frame with room to store your cushions.

The Verona: The light travertine top with a subtle caramel marble border. On a aluminium pedestal base. This looks great with a light coloured wicker chair.

The Milano: The light travertine top is bordered with a dark marble. This suits a cast aluminum chair or a darker wicker. Using the aluminium pedestal base.

The Luna: Brand new for 2016-17 the Luna features a full Turkish marble top. Matches perfectly with our most popular resin wicker chair colour, Moonscape.

Selecting a chair

As we sell all of these items separately you have a number of options to choose from with chairs. These tables will go well with cast aluminium or many of our huge range of synthetic wicker chairs.

For great comfort an all weather wicker chair can be used with any of these styles. If you are looking to add a matching outdoor lounge this is a great option. Here are a few examples.

Or for an undoubtedly elegant look go for a cast aluminium. These chairs are also great performers in an exposed environment.

Another option is taking something from our Royal Garden steel garden furniture collection

Natural stone tables in Australian backyards

These settings have boomed in popularity in recent years. As popular by the coast for their resistance to the salt air as they are in the surburbs or on the farm. Here are a few examples of how these tables are being used in Australian backyards.

Care and Maintenance

For day to day cleaning use a mild detergent with water.

We also recommend sealing your table to maintain a protective coating and prevent staining. If your table is in a full sun position we would recommend every six months. If in a covered location seal once a year.

We use a sealant from Aqua-Seal called Aqua-Seal Gold
