Greywash Teak

Teak is one of the world’s best timbers for construction. It is indelibly strong, durable, weatherproof and has outstanding resistance to decay and rot. So it is perfect for outdoor furniture.

When teak outdoor furniture pieces are produced they are generally oiled. Left to weather, the timber will naturally turn a silvery grey but a clean and re-oiling will bring it back to original state.

There are a number of products used to achieve this but we have looked to an eco-friendly option that will perform in the outdoors and with a touch of colour produces a stunning vintage look.

The result is a lovely matt finish, smokey grey in colour and with the protection of a high quality oil that uses nanotechnology to provide a durable molecular bond with the timber. Here are some of the reasons why we choose Rubio Monocoat..

Eco Friendly – Monocoat is completely plant based and 100% free of VOC’s  (volatile organic compounds)

UV resistant – High protection against UV to maintain the look in a sunny environment for longer

Liquid resistant – The oil provides liquid resistance to the furniture giving the timber itself protection against water and spills

Mould resistant – in the right conditions mould can form on any surface and outdoor furniture, particularly when kept out of the sun is particularly susceptible to it. Inhibitors in this coating will help. Please note it does not make it impervious, if you experience mould please refer to our guide

No flaking – The bonded coating does not form a film so will not flake or crack
